Luxury of Happiness

I’ve been absent these past couple of days because I’m writing my masters thesis. Currently I have no social life, I haven’t seen my hubby in 7 days and we live together, I haven’t showered in 5 days (ewww), I sleep 4 hours per night, and those hours are slept from 06 in the morning to 10 or 11, depending on when I actually fall asleep. My head is constantly pounding and it’s an understatement to say that I’m exhausted. All these months I’ve been working hard to reach my academic goal – to become an civil engineer of construction.  All the work load and sacrificing is making me unhappy and miserable.

But I’m doing all this with a greater goal in mind, to achieve something for myself and my family.  Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to make a living doing they love (sing, dance, blog, model), some of us have to actually work! And to call singing or acting work, that just an insult to my face! It’s a damn hobby you get paid to do! Real work is doing something that NO ONE enjoys doing to make a living.

But to want to be happy all the time is rather selfish, because normal people don’t have that luxury. The realization that I don’t need to be happy in a given moment, and still be satisfied to me is HUGE!
